This delicious custard is packed full of antioxidants, so you can eat well and live well!
Ingredients
3 cups (750 mL) of organic whole milk
4 eggs beaten
1 tsp (5 mL) stevia
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
1 1/4 tsp (6 mL) Matcha green tea powder
2 Tbsp (30 mL) filtered water
Ground nutmeg to sprinkle
Garnish with mixed berries of choice (i.e. blueberry, cranberry, blackberry, raspberry) and mint or lemon balm leaves.
Note: Whenever possible choose organic, local ingredients.
Note: Stevia can be purchased as a powder, a liquid, or crushed leaves. Varying degrees of sweetness will occur between different forms and companies.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300° F.
2. Whisk eggs until blended, then add milk, stevia and vanilla. Whisk until well blended.
3. In a small container add green tea powder and water, blend into a smooth paste.
4. Add green tea powder to the other ingredients and whisk until well blended.
5. Pour into six ramekin dishes or custard cups.
6. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
7. In a large baking dish place custard cups and fill the baking dish with water until the level is about one inch below the top of the custard cups.
8. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until knife comes out clean when inserted into the middle of one of the custards.
9. Refrigerate until well chilled.
